Maaji by Qudratullah Shahab

The Annual of Urdu Studies, 2004

Abstract:

Qudratullah Shahab (d. 1986) was an eminent Urdu writer and public figure in Pakistan. He is well-known for his autobiography entitled Shahab-namah, as well as for many other literary works. “Maaji,” or “Mamma,” translated into English here for the first time, is a touching tribute to his mother. Her simplicity, spirituality, warmth, and the imprint she left on all who met her is beautifully depicted.
